Support for Parents of School Age Children

  1. Aboriginal Mental Health Liaison Program – Provides mental health services to Aboriginal individuals and families residing in the Fraser region.
  2. Encompass Support Services Society – Services include community outreach for families and children under the age of six years, on-site childcare for parents returning to school, family drop in programming, young parent support, parent and child educational programming and Best Babies programming.
  3. Family Support Circle – Provides off-site support for families who have difficulties and multiple barriers to accessing services. Includes information and settlement assistance as well as accompaniment to government and non-governmental appointments.
  4. Immigration and Settlement Services B.C. – Targeted programs for refugees, women, children and youth with support in over 45 languages. Services include career, settlement and languages.
  5. Ishtar – Offers a twelve bed facility that provides safe, temporary, emergency accommodation for women and their children leaving an abusive relationship.
  6. Langley Community Services Society – Offers a variety of services for children and adults including counselling, parent outreach, workshops, Family Resource drop in programs, substance abuse program, and cultural and immigration programs.
  7. Langley Health Unit – Offers public health nursing services including screening, assessment, counselling, referral and follow-up, speech and language pathology, audiology, nutrition, dental health, prenatal and postnatal services and childhood immunizations.
  8. Langley Hospice Society – Provides free individual or group grief and bereavement counselling. Offers support groups for adults and children including children’s summer programs.
  9. Langley Parents as Partners in Learning – Provides educational opportunities on topics of interest to parents.
  10. Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society – A non-profit society who recognize a need for services to meet the needs of Aboriginal families.
  11. Ministry of Child and Family Development – Dedicated to providing the following services for families in Langley including, intake and investigation, guardianship, youth justice, child and youth mental health and child and youth special needs and adoption.
  12. Parent Outreach and Counselling – Offers educational and support programs and counselling services for parents and families.
  13. The F.O.R.C.E. for Kids Mental Health – Provides families and professionals with information, tools and tips on how to support and assist children with mental health difficulties.
  14. Xyolhemeylh Child and Family Services – Services provided include both child protection and prevention services.
